What are you doing to keep your brand in front of existing customers?

Many times we spend so much time thinking about how we can connect with new clients that we forget our existing customers. We need to stay in front of them. After all, it’s much cheaper and easier to sell to existing clients than new ones!

There are many ways to stay in front of your existing customers. I am sharing five ideas to help inspire methods you can implement:

  1. Postcard Mailers Mailing an occasional post card mailer to your customer list can help you stay in front of them. Pair this with a time sensitive offer such as a cut-off coupon (for retail establishments) and you might inspire them to come visit.
  2. Customer Gifts Have you thought of giving customers a strategically chosen gift at the end of a sale? For instance, suppose you are a kitchen builder. You could give them a wooden cutting board with your logo engraved in the corner. Make it something useful that they won’t just put away and forget about. Additionally holiday gifts can be effective. Consider sending a gift around a random holiday other than Christmas to avoid the noise!
  3. Email Lists Collect your customers email addresses and send them an occasional email. Don’t spam them, just send a helpful email every now and then to keep your name in front of them.
  4. After Sale Follow-up This one applies especially to large purchases. A few weeks after you’ve made the sale and finished the deal, follow up with a call, or email and find out how it’s working out for them. This will help your customers feel like you care about them! Keep it short, keep it sweet and make sure you focus on them, not you.
  5. Referral Programs Happy customers who tell their friends are one of the strongest methods of advertising. Provide an incentive for word-of-mouth referrals by offering a reward when your existing customers refer someone who makes a sale.
